This is just to say (and I've lost two followers over night)

Rae at US IN TEJAS tagged me for a meme. And Marty at Dark Star Discovery (what a wonderful Blog name) won two awards and passed them along to me. Thank you, both of you. Considering the fact I've been totally AWOL from the Blogosphere for way longer than I ever thought I'd be, and will for more days ahead, I'm touched. I'll do the meme and post the awards and pass them on soon. But again, thanks.

  1. Aww Grandpa, don't you just hate when that happens? I'm always tempted to do some marketing research?

What can I do to serve you better?

What will it take to bring you back?

    Would 5 free CD's help?

Hey if it works for Columbia House aka BMG music....

Hey, I'm sticking around like glue Grandpa, if that helps...

I gotta find out how that John the Baptist Blues Opera turns out :)

    Peace - Rene

  2. My God, Rene. That totally helped. Look for an award.

I think I need to start posting some lyrics and scores from the opera. I'm totally impressed you remembered. Thank you.

  4. I'm still following you. I've noticed you have been AWOL lately though. It happens to all of us at some time or other.

  11. Take your time; come back when you are ready. Life gets in the way of blogging sometimes, as it probably should...

I'll still be here, whenever you return.

I'll be adding an actual link to my site, too -- as soon as I quit being lazy about those updates.

  12. I know, I wonder what is in people's minds that they have to go around REMOVING their name from a blog?!! I don't get it. I'd join yours twice if I could to make up for them :)

  13. I have a friend who got dropped by somebody, and it ruined her week! (She actually mentioned it in an email.) Sometimes I wonder if the following thing is such a good idea . . . it just seems like another version of score-keeping. Do we need that in our little blog-world?

    Word verification is textest. Interesting.

  15. It happens Grandpa. I use a blogroll and dont pay any attention to followers or trying to follow others to be honest. However then my blogroll disappeared last week and then I had a hard job remembering who was on it - I had over 120 blogs on the list so am having to start again. Besides this following business a bit like Facebook where everyone tries to get as many friends as they can just to beat others. To me its the quality of your follower not the quantity.

  16. Thanks, Lilly. I totally agree. And I have to say I am quite impressed with the quality of the people who come here and leave comments. Just look at the people who left comments on this post. I feel honored and proud to be among such company.

  17. Be yourself Grandpa--what is a follower anyway? I'd rather have 4 solid friends than a million followers.

  18. Ever since I put up my feed counter I have TWO numbers to watch go up or down.... it is a fickle world out there and I comfort myself with the thought that only the really great people are sticking around. The ones who don't get it, leave. And that's OK! Why would I want them to stay if they're not having a good time?

Hope to see you around more! And when will you put up pictures of the puppy??

  20. Grandpa - sorry being so late to make my rounds... you are well deserving of all the awards you get. I also want to thank you for calling DSD a wonderful blog name. That just kind of made me feel good all over.

  21. Grandpa, I'm on my own journey, as you read. I'm just not sure that I'm going to be blogging for awhile. Take care.
