Friday off

I haven't taken a Friday off in what seems like ages. I took it off today. My daughter made pancakes for breakfast and then I spent the day at the Georgia aquarium with my granddaughters. Tonight, we're all going to eat pizza. I think I'll take Friday off more often.

Today's quote

This came from a Power Point slide show that was forwarded to me by a very good friend:
If you woke up this morning in good health, you have more luck than the one million people who won't live through the week.

  1. Glad to see that you are playing some judicious "hookey" for once, Grandpa! Lucky grandkids!
    Enjoy blessed holidays-Aloha

  2. Now that is a quote that should make us count our blessings a little more often. We had pancakes for breakfast too. Sounds like you had a lovely day off. Have a great weekend.

  3. Yes, Friday's are an excellent day to take off. Looks like you are making the most of it too.

Yikes on the quote. Well, we all know that we aren't getting off this planet alive.

    Have a great weekend. :)

  4. On the other hand, just because you made it out of bed this morning is no guarantee you're going to make it thru the week :))

  5. Lovely quote and soooo relevant.
Just wanna thank you for all the thoughts on my blog for India's ordeal...
Glad to inform you that they are all shot...
We lost a lot...but its over now...

Now we can wait and see what are pathetic government has to say....

  6. I like the word hookey, Cloudia. But it really is lucky Grandpa. Hope your holiday was great. Here's a word my "fasion queen" granddaughter came up with. Fantabulosis. I really hope your holiday was fantabulosis. :0)

I've two more days of the grandkids, Denise. I plan to have a great weekend. Thanks for your comment. Aren't pancakes the best way to start off the day.

I don't know, Sandee. I'm going to give it a try. But as long as you're around, it's kind of crazy why someone would want to get off this planet.

That's a great observation and a great reminder, Braja. And I know partly where it comes from. Thank you.

  7. Indi, I'm so glad it's over. But I know it doesn't mean the feelings or the fear or the anger is. It's hard to feel supportive from so far away. But I do know how it feels. And I send as much positive energy as I can. And you and all those around you are in my thoughts. I'm glad you are safe, and that you have a chance for a better tomorrow.

  8. I love taking Friday off, and this holiday season it's so easy to do, as Christmas and New Years are on Thursday also. I'm looking forward to two more long weekends!

May you continue to have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, Grandpa.

  9. Oh wow - if that's not a slap to my face....BUT thankful for the quote, nevertheless ;)
